MINH TRAN graduated from Rice University (Houston, Texas U.S.A.) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1984. He obtained his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in 1994 and participated in the Intellectual Property LLM (Master of Law) Program at University of Houston from 1994 to 1997. Law was a second career for Minh, who worked as a Chemical Engineer for 12 years (9 of them with Occidental Chemical Corporation) before entering the legal profession. Minh worked as the Chief Legal Counsel for an international oil and gas high tech company, Agar Corporation, in Houston, Texas for ten years before open his firm of MINH TRAN, PC in 2004. Starting 2013, Minh expanded his practice to Vietnam and the Middle East and started LUAT, PLLC to partner with overseas attorneys to provide legal services to the firm’s international clients. Minh’s major strengths include thorough knowledge of asset protection, reduction of legal liability, ability to analyze client legal data in a way that blends technical ability with real world pragmatism, flexibility and adaptability in assembling a winning legal team in multiple areas to find successful business solutions and strategies for the clients. Minh’s focus on LUAT, PLLC is to render legal advices on U.S. laws in the areas of intellectual property law; commercial law; corporate and employment law; immigration law; investment for foreign investors; real estate law; oil & gas; wills and estate including estate planning; and tax law to the overseas clients. Minh is a member of the Texas State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association and the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association.

Besides practicing law, Mr. Tran also owned and operated businesses, sat on Boards of Directors, acted as in-house general counsel for private companies, and is an active community volunteer in several non-profit organizations, government entities and corporations. He has developed strong leadership abilities and effectively coordinates team members, volunteers, and community leaders for a greater good. Mr. Tran is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum in Houston/Galveston, Texas, a network that brings together a broad cross-section of leaders committed to building a stronger community. Mr. Tran has used collaborative leadership skills along with many leaders across the community to identify and deal with complex regional issues, model servant leadership, and has created opportunities to work together in ways that make a significant difference to Houston and its surrounding communities.
